Hello. I'm Dr. Dongkyu Lee, an orthopedic specialist. Today, I'll introduce a NewPIMS treatment case for calcific tendinitis in the supraspinatus. A 49-year-old female patient had been suffering from left shoulder pain for one year, receiving medication, injections, and physical therapy at another hospital. Symptoms didn't improve and recently the pain became so severe she couldn't move her arm at all. Based on the symptoms, calcific tendinitis was suspected. Let's look at the X-ray:

NewPIMS treatment (calcium crushing and aspiration) was performed for the shoulder calcific tendinitis.

For any remaining calcium after NewPIMS treatment, additional extracorporeal shockwave therapy is performed. This patient also had some remaining calcium, so additional shockwave therapy was performed. Let's look at the final results:

Calcific tendinitis can cause excruciating pain regardless of the calcium size. That's why removing the calcium is the fastest and easiest treatment approach. NewPIMS treatment (calcium crushing and aspiration) can treat calcific tendinitis more quickly and efficiently.
